The Metaphysical Nature of Reality: An Occult Point of View

The occultist may seek the hidden wisdom found in nature in a metaphysical vein first and foremost but also as tied to natural science and its possibly less obvious implications for how the energy of spirit interacts with the natural world, such as by its invisible ties to physiology and psychology via the lifeforce. The solid world of matter appears solid and so it will persistently seem to be when looking at it outwardly. That the world we inhabit in the physical realm is solid is yet, however, a stubborn illusion for even it moves to mind, energy and spirit, just in a far more subtle way; in a way that's behind the scenes of the intricate design of the world of matter, in a layer of the world that's above, behind or beneath that which is physically visible and concretely tangible. It's the higher realm of causes; subjective, magical causes beyond a world that appears to be truly objective, molding, shaping, playing with, working at, it, from different levels of subtle interaction. There are larger and smaller forces in this grand scheme of things like the entities or energies behind planets giving their magnitude of influence over the astral realities intersecting with the physical and impacting sometimes mass collective shifts in civilization and events, which then gives rise to astrology in a more serious vein than merely horoscopes in the newspaper. This is what magicians have realized all across the ages in their understanding of the nature of reality, expressed in different ways, upheld in an array of magical philosophies and practical paths, enabling them to carry out their magical acts of change, even if not at the same level as a planet's influence or in the same way, but flowing to the subtle tides of the cosmos, intercepting where it's fortuitous and waiting patiently when it's not until its time is due.

The world of matter may remain apparently solid but it'll not stop moving to a grand engine of spirit in the machinery of magic, even though it might obey natural laws. This happens on a metaphysical level, where circumstances and events as seen from our subjective depths of perception occur in very strange ways, where tides ebb and flow, where situations shift and change, where the apparently solid has now taken a different turn of events and flown through a different course of reality than might have even been expected beforehand. It's like the whole reality changes in one way or another, whether dependent on material conditions, political or social events, a collective psyche, a magical act from individuals or groups of individuals affecting subtler layers of reality trickling down, the alignments of different planets, or just being the reflection on one's inner microcosm, when transformed, leading to a change seen tangibly in one's relationship to life in general, attracting a very different outcome than before as milestones of the journey.

The mystical and the mundane do indeed intersect in a very interesting blend of balance between an interplay of many different forces, material, social, intellectual, spiritual, cosmic, divine, etc., only realized by the rising to consciousness via practices of spirituality and as epitomized by the perception of magicians in their relatively more timeless awareness of the underlying, noumenal reality, with its intermediary link of energy between the different realms as seen to the best of their realization along their lines of Work...

To underestimate the subtle is to miss a profound detail of existence where just a small little thing might in the end change the whole trajectory of life or the course of history... for just as a small thought might ignite a huge flame, a magical act can alter the web of life in quite profound ways, if energy is mastered and magic committed to under the timeless lens of spiritual wisdom and occult understanding, selflessly sought for its evolution and banner of legacy to a world that's nearly forgotten...
